OUR MISSION

The Civil Society Development Foundation Hungary aims to strengthen nonprofit organizations and enhance their effective and sustainable development, thus enabling them to mobilize citizens and fulfil their significant societal roles in Hungary and in Central and Eastern Europe.

Our activities were grouped around three strategic goals:

• We would like to have a diverse and more open non-profit sector that is more appealing for the public. A civil society where there is a demand for professional operation, and the knowledge and skills related to non-profit management are widely known and recognized. Where professionals of different areas are willing to learn and to develop their organizations. As a result, clients would receive the highest quality service that is both transparent and accountable. 
• Accountability, transparency and communication. We strongly believe that compliance with these principles will help to form a more favorable opinion about the non-profit sector in the minds of customers, decision-makers and donors.
• Reaching across the borders, in Central and Eastern Europe we aim at assisting resource and support organizations willing to adopt our know-how and integrate it into their own services, thus contributing to the long-term development of the particular country. In order to provide examples for others, we intend to make the expertise we developed as well as our experience accessible on the regional level.
  

OUR ACTIVITIES

We realize this aim by providing NGO capacity building and development services in the following areas:

• NGO management trainings, consultancy and publications
  
• public forums enhancing networking and co-operation
  
• The CSDF Hungary also aims to support initiatives that foster the sustainable development of the NGO sector as a whole. This we wish to realize by sectorwide and cross-sectoral dialogue and co-operation.
